Like, the way you think the game will play out with that setting, and the way it will actually play out based on how the Ai actually plays is vastly different. Originally posted by Bazilicus:Sounds like an even easier stomp on the ai than normal to me, as they just get locked up with one another as the maps are far and away too cramped to allow this sort of thing. While you just wish to play with more than 8 players, i'm pretty sure the devs limited it to 8 because of gameplay, technical and balancing reasons Providing options is not hard and we dont need to police how people play. I enjoy mostly densely populated maps in games that have a lot of conflict and territorial wars going on between each ai and me. Point is - I havent played 8 players game yet but once I start to I usually drop map when its clear I will win. I might however buy copy for my friend to try aow3. Finished all campaigns - shadow magic twice, plus a lot of really long custom games. I've however played hundreds of hours of aow2 and aow1 combined. I will pick up dlc on release day probably as a exception to my "buy only at sales" rule I had to employ (too many time dissapointed with state of games at release day). Bought game at full price on release - played 30 minutes. and a rush to the seals, so that it feels like a struggle.īut not in a setting with an extral large map where you just have to conquer anyone.ĪOW3 - havent yet bothered to invest too much time because I knew there would be dlc. More than 8 players may be fun on a bit smaller maps with seal victory on, so that it really is a back and forth etc. so you will have won the game long before you conquered 5 out of those 8 players and the last 3 are just stuff you need to kill to get to the winning screen (or just offer them an alliance and have it over with). In theory it sounds fun to play a game with 32 ai players or something but in practice you will start steamrolling everything once you reached a certain point.
